Summary

Welcome to Febrile, a cultured podcast about all things infectious disease! Listen in as Sara gives a quick introduction about the project and the Febrile mission.

Welcome!

Do you love infectious disease (ID)?  Do you wish podcasters talked more about social history, antibiotics, and source control?  Welcome to your new favorite podcast!

Welcome to Febrile: a cultured podcast about all things infectious disease!  We use consult questions and case-based learning to dive into ID clinical reasoning, diagnostics, and antimicrobial management.  We’ll talk with experts in both adult and pediatric ID to cover high-yield and interesting topics.

After listening, you can use the website to review our comprehensive “Consult Notes” for summaries, infographics, and links to references.

I previously started #IDFellowCase, a virtual tweet-chat based case conference on Twitter.  Although there was a positive response in this format, participants weren’t always able to hear all the details in the thought process behind the case and of our discussants.   Check out some of the prior summary threads at the end of this post or go to the Infographics page.

I want Febrile to serve as a resource to ID fellows (but really – anyone who wants to learn about infectious disease!).  In addition, I hope the podcast and website will act as an opportunity to highlight trainees and faculty who love teaching about ID.  And of course, I would love to encourage any undecided trainees to love ID and join our community!
